While working in Colorado Springs, Dr. Rasmussen noticed how some of her clients had limitations getting their pets to her due to transportation issues. After seeing one client arrive in a taxi she decided it would be a valuable service to offer veterinary care for large and small animals to their homes.
Dr. Rasmussen graduated from Colorado State University in 2012 and began working in Colorado Springs at Airway Veterinary Hospital. This Hospital provides mixed animal care to many species. Transitioning to a hospital closer to home she now works at an emergency clinic in Lakewood 2 days a week. In 2013, Dr. Rasmussen launched Colorado Mobile Veterinary Services, LLC. Days of operation have expanded and can be found on our Location/Hours page. Hours, 5am to 9 pm, extend into evenings (no additional fees) to allow those who are busy during the day to make evening appointments at their convenience.
Dr. Rasmussen's undergraduate major was microbiology. She then pursued a masters in Biomedical Sciences with a USDA project dealing with dairy cattle embryology and reproduction before beginning her veterinary education.
As a teen she enjoyed training dogs and horses and began grooming dogs before college and during her undergraduate studies. She lives with her husband and two children in Fort Collins and they enjoy hiking 14ers, swimming Horsetooth Reservoir, gardening and playing with their dogs, cats, horses and chickens.
